The Romantics

There are plenty of films with lead characters who are pure scum of the Earth, characters that you would punch in the face should you ever run into them on the street. But while the movie may play up that central character�s more negative aspects, there are usually positive elements to balance them, either in the form of a supporting character or weakness. The Romantics has plenty of the former but none of the latter. In spite of the film�s strong performances, the story is simply too run of the mill to work and the characters will leave a bad taste in your mouth. It�s simply a lot of wasted potential.
