John Rich's Son Inspires His Passion For Charity

Celebrity Apprentice fans are anxiously waiting for the Sunday, May 22 finale to see whether John Rich will beat Marlee Matlin to win $250,000 for his charity of choice, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. But John is already a winner to the kids of St. Jude's, an organization he first came to know over fifteen years ago.

The country singer superstar talks about the first time he visited the hospital and how his commitment grew after having his own son, Cash. "The first time I ever went to St. Jude, I was a bass player in Lonestar. This would've been about 1995...As a young punk kid in a rowdy country band, I was sobered by going there," he recalls. "I walked in as a young bachelor, and it knocked me down then. But going back now as a guy with a 15-month-old son, you walk in that hospital...their parents are in agony, scared to death of what's going to happen next...It's almost more than you can stand."
