President Obama Is Not a Fan of the Kardashians

To some, the Kardashians might seem almost admirable: After all, they managed to turn themselves into multi-media stars despite an almost total lack of actual talent. But it turns out, unsurprisingly, that President Obama is not impressed, even if his daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, are fans of the family?s reality shows. As first lady Michelle Obama recently confessed to iVillage, ?Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians ? when they watch that stuff ? he doesn?t like it as much.?

Michelle seems to share her husband?s low opinion of the clan. As she continued, ?I sort of feel like, if we?re talking about it? I?m more concerned with how they take it in ? what did you learn when you watched that? And if they?re learning the right lessons, like, ?That was crazy,? then I?m okay.?

One certainly can?t blame the Obamas for fearing that their daughters might learn the wrong lessons from the show ? lessons about sex tapes leading to worldwide fame, and whatnot ? but the president and first lady might want to think twice before feuding with the Kardashians. After all, it?s not their first time going head-to-head with a reality star: His well-publicized skirmish with Nicole ?Snooki? Polizzi, who spoke out against the president after he imposed a 10 percent tax on tanning salons as part of his health care bill, coincided with a precipitous drop in his popularity. (Of course, the cause of that effect wasn?t proven to be Jersey Shore-related, but it was never disproven, either.) Can he afford to criticize the Kardashians in this critical election year?
