Matthew Fox is still hurting from his fight with a female bus driver. Back in August, the Lost star was detained by police for allegedly punching 29-year-old Heather Bormann after she refused to let him onto a private party bus. Bormann's attempt to press criminal charges was dismissed in September, but her civil lawsuit against the actor is still pending. Now Fox has filed a counter-suit, claiming that Bormann lied about the whole incident.
According to Fox's filing, the mother of three is the one who attacked him on that night in Cleveland. Furthermore, the actor contends that her lawsuit was malicious, subjecting him to "public hatred, contempt, ridicule and shame." Fox claims that the negative publicity generated by Bormann caused him to lose out on acting jobs. He's suing for unspecified damages.
In Bormann's telling of the incident, a very drunk Fox approached her bus and demanded to be allowed into the private event. When Bormann told him to leave, he allegedly went on the attack, striking her in the chest, arm, leg and groin. She then punched him in the jaw in retaliation, bloodying his lip.
"This was my self-defense," Bormann told TMZ. "This was the only way I could protect myself...from a man beating up on a woman."
When Cleveland prosecutors decided not to press criminal charges against Fox, Bormann called it a "miscarriage of justice." She's currently suing Fox for assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress and is demanding at least $75,000 in damages.
