Kevin Federline has had a bit of a rough time filming the weight-loss reality show Excess Baggage in Australia. Britney Spears' ex-husband collapsed on Monday after experiencing chest pains while participating in a challenge with an Australian football team. Ther 33-year-old was taken by ambulance to Mt. Druitt Hospital, where he was treated for symptoms of minor cardiac arrest, according to the Australian Associated Press. Test results showed that he had not suffered a heart attack, contrary to reports from some media outlets.
"During a challenge, the show's medic was concerned that Kevin's pulse rate was high so as a precautionary move, called an ambulance," a spokesperson for Fremantle Media, the production company behind Excess Baggage, told the Australian Associated Press.
According to the spokesperson, the challenge Federline was participating in -- a customary warm-up drill used by Australian football players -- was not particularly grueling or dangerous.
This isn't the first time Federline has had health problems while filming the show. He was also diagnosed with heat stress in early December after he collapsed during his first shoot.
K-Fed isn't a stranger to weight-loss shows. Federline lost 30 pounds on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club in 2010, but put the weight back on -- and then some -- after the show wrapped. That's why Federline, who wieghed in at 232 pounds at the beginning of filming, chose to give the reality-show circuit another whirl. We truly hope he gets healthy this time around.
