LeAnn Rimes has checked herself into an in-patient treatment program in order to help her deal with "anxiety and stress" -- though she insists it has nothing to do with her rumored eating disorder.
"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," Rimes tells People. "All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
It sounds like Rimes, who just turned 30, isn't having any severe issues, but rather just wants to learn to cope with any emotional problems that she currently has. Or at least that's how she and her team are playing it.
"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," her representative says. "While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
Hubby Eddie Cibrian will stand behind his wife through this trying time, he says. The two married in April 2011 after a scandal-filled courtship, but now they seem to be together through thick and thin.
"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," says Cibrian. "I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."
For fans worried about what this means for Rimes' new album Spitfire and her upcoming fall tour, the singer's rep says that she'll still fulfill those obligations. The treatment center has given Rimes permission to leave so she can perform during her "weekend tour obligations," as long as she returns afterwards.
