Halloweeen is only a few weeks away -- if you haven't started preparing, then it's time to get in the mood for this year's spook fest! Check out some of the fun -- and frightful! -- Halloween-themed shows and specials that are coming up that will surely get you ready for the big day!
If you're feeling nostalgic these days, then you're in luck. NBC will air a Halloween special, Mockingbird Lane (Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m. ET), based on the 60's-era comedy series, The Munsters. The special is actually the pilot episode of what was meant to be a series, but the network ultimately rejected it. So if you want to see Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, this is your shot.
Also, some of your favorite shows will dedicate special episodes to surely hilarious Halloween capers -- here's what they have on deck:
On Modern Family (Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. ET, on ABC), Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) throw a costume party, where Gloria (Sofia Vergara) slinks around dressed as a pregnant (and we're guessing still sexy?) alien and Claire (Julie Bowen) hops around as Little Bo Peep.
On Suburgatory (Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9:30 p.m. ET, on ABC), George (Jeremy Sisto) dresses as Noah (Alan Tudyk), and vice versa. Dallas (Cheryl Hines) and Dalia (Carly Chaikin) dress as Barbie and Skipper. And guest star Rachel Dratch dresses as someone called the East Chatswin witch.
On The Office (Thursday, Oct. 25, at 9 p.m. ET, on NBC), Stephen Colbert will guest star as Broccoli Rob, Andy's (Ed Helms) frenemy and former member of his a cappella group. Rumor has it Rob is full of tricks. Ah, but will he bring treats, too? You'll have to tune it to find out.
On The New Normal (Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 9:30 p.m. ET, on NBC), David (Justin Bartha), Bryan (Andrew Rannells), Shania (BeBe Wood) and company will be dressing up as the clan in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. No doubt it will be a respectful tribute. Do we really have to wait until Oct. 30th for this one?
And last but certainly not least (for Halloween enthusiasts), some networks are offering up an extended holiday celebration that goes on for days and days.
On AMC's Fear Fest (Oct. 13 – 31, starting at 8 p.m. ET), Kevin Smith hosts an onslaught of horror movies that just keep going, night after night. Why? Apparently to make sure you're too scared to fall sleep, ever again. Click here for the list of movies.
On Syfy, you can tune in for a celebration of all things death-related with the channel's annual 31 Days of Halloween lineup (already in progress). That means -- yep -- more horror movies. But also a special holiday episode of Paranormal Witness and a couple of original horror films dreamed up by the network. Click here to see the scary schedule.
On ABC Family, you can check out 13 Nights of Halloween (Oct. 19 – 31), which has a schedule full of slightly less sinister movies and specials. (Think Beetlejuice and The Addams Family, rather than Friday the 13th.) There's also a Halloween special on Pretty Little Liars (Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET). Click here for the full schedule.
These networks save their most frightening fare for Halloween itself. So...that can either be a night of free candy or bone-chilling horror. You decide.
