Lady Gaga New Year's Eve Performance: Watch Now!

For native New Yorker Lady Gaga, it was a dream come true.

The singer performed live in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, treating Little Monsters to a medley of “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night” and “Born This Way.”

She began the routine in a costume that looked like a cross between Jabba the Hutt, a giant squid and a sequined Pac-Man. Your guess is as good as ours really.

Soon enough, she changed to a (relatively, for Gaga) normal black body suit, Catwoman mask and globe-structure thing. Watch her NYE performance below:

Taylor Armstrong of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Russell Armstrong and Her Book

Taylor Armstrong had a tough 2011: The year has seen the disintegration of her marriage amid allegations of domestic abuse, the subsequent suicide of her estranged husband Russell Armstrong, and the media hoopla that followed. Not surprisingly, the reality star is eagerly looking forward to a fresh start in 2012.

"Going into New Year's, I'm just really focused on celebrating my life that I have now, and finding my voice still and the courage to move forward with my little girl," Taylor, 40, tells iVillage exclusively about her 5-year-old daughter Kennedy. "This is going to be a big New Year's for us."

The second season of Bravo's RHOBH will wrap up with a reunion show Feb. 6 and the next day, Armstrong's memoir Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss and Finding the Courage Within which details her personal struggles with domestic violence, will hit stands.

But first, Taylor will bid adieu to 2011 by hosting a New Year's Eve party in Chicago to celebrate Ciroc Vodka's Safe Rides program. (They're handing out pre-paid cards that partygoers can use for safe transportation home.) When iVillage chatted with the reality star, she shared her hopes for her new book, dished on her daughter's New Year's plans, and revealed her major resolution for 2012. 

What was your reason for writing Hiding from Reality, and what do you hope readers take away from it?
The book is, just like New Year's Eve, a new beginning for me. I'm really looking forward in my life right now, but I think it's important for people to understand the back story. The book is very, very honest and candid. I think it's important for people to understand the dynamics that go on in relationships that have complicated outcomes or relationships of inequality. That's the point of the book: to try and help other people, not to get involved in something that might be dangerous for them or unhealthy in any way. Going into New Year's, I'm just really focused on celebrating my life that I have now, and finding my voice still and the courage to move forward with my little girl. This is going to be a big New Year's for us.

How is Kennedy doing?
She's enjoying the holidays, and she's surrounded by so much love with our family. I'm very, very fortunate to have such an amazing group of family and my friends around me to help support her during all of this.

Will Kennedy be celebrating New Year's with you in Chicago?
She has a very busy social schedule, so I'm going to have to check with her. You know, she typically likes to spend New Year’s Eve with my parents, and I used to do the same thing when I was little. They spoil her rotten. And they have other grandparents in their neighborhood that have their grandchildren over, so they kind of have a kid version of a New Year's Eve party -- you know, with sparkling apple juice and all of that. So I don't know. I’ll have to ask her what she wants to do this year now that she's a big 5. Maybe she’s outgrown the grandparent party. But that's her typical New Year's Eve celebration.

Have the other Housewives been supportive throughout everything that's happened in 2011?
Yes, absolutely. We're really close.

Do you have any big New Year’s resolutions for 2012?
I've thought so long and hard about that one. I feel like I could make a laundry list of resolutions for this year. But the most important thing for me right now is just to get healthy and to make sure that my daughter's healthy, and really just learn to love the life that we live and just focus on moving forward day by day.

'War Horse' Director Steven Spielberg Captures 'Beauty Of The Accident'

Actor Tom Hiddleston says, 'Every day, there is magic that will happen.'

"He is the master." At the premiere of "War Horse," praise like this for the movie's director wasn't hard to come by.

For Tom Hiddleston, working with a director as talented as Steven Spielberg meant more than just acting under a guy who has made dozens of timeless films. Hiddleston told MTV News on the red carpet premiere of "War Horse" that working with Spielberg was more like a crash course in classic movie magic.

Spielberg recently directed the "Thor" star in "War Horse," a World War I-era drama about the connection between a boy and his horse. Hiddleston shared a few of the lessons he learned from the legendary director.

"He's a master craftsman," he said. "And what I learned from him, really, is that he's so impeccably prepared."

Hiddleston recalled Spielberg's habit of storyboarding many of the film's scenes, but that never stopped the director from making changes on the fly and running with them. "He turns up on set every day with an open mind and an open heart, because he still doesn't know where the magic is. And every day, there is magic that will happen."

But for Spielberg to find that magic, he has to keep both this cast and crew on their toes. For Hiddleston, this often meant changing direction on a moment's notice. "He just has to be sharp enough and on point enough that he's there to catch it and to keep his crew nimble and fleet of foot," Hiddleston explained. "So that if he suddenly sees something like the sun's in a particular place or something's happening between two actors, or in this case, an actor and a horse, that he can capture that, the beauty of the accident, and it lasts forever on film."

Looks like the "Love & Hip Hop" chicks are taking full advantage of their tv time and starting new ventures they can pub in between beat downs and catfights.

In between managing models and rappers and trying to break up fights, "Love & Hip Hop" star Yandy Smith started a new venture.  She says she's all about being a positive role model to women and young girls. So Yandy and her girlfriends have created their own magazine and jewel line called EGL.

To bring in the new year, she tapped singer/writer and fab chick Mashonda, former "Love and Hip Hop" castmate to be on the cover of her January 2012 issue (above).

YBF: Erica Mena has been popping off about your big fight this week. She seemed to start going in on you as soon as you opened you mouth and it was your first REAL time meeting?! She says a lot ended up on the cutting floor and the show was shaped to make her look like the bad guy. Do you agree? What's your side of the story?

Kimbella: I don’t agree. She is bi-polar. In fact, she is a crack whore and you will get to see it in the rest of the episodes brought to you by VH1! She is obviously embarrassed by her actions because she really got to see who “she” really is. She doesn’t know how to conduct herself as a lady and it showed. I basically I was attacked. I tried to stay classy but she tried my patience and crossed the line. It’s crazy to hear her blaming VH1 and not herself.Even the producers were dumbfounded when all this happened.

Did you know Erica before this?

No! What’s wrong with these women? What did I do to Chrissy or Erica for them to do this to me?
I don’t know her….and I haven’t heard anything great about her. The one thing I can tell you is that folks in the industry are saying before “Love & Hip Hop,” she was found stripping in the Valley and giving blow jobs for $200. So that is the career that me and VH1 are ruining?

So for the record--WHO WON THE FIGHT?

I’m not about that. We shouldn’t be fighting because we are both grown women. I’m not going to condone fighting.

Erica said she didn't call the cops. is this true? Were any police reports filed?

There is a police report filed. She did call the cops…and she was going to press charges (she didn’t). She called the cops because her face was cut. But wait, isn’t she from the Bronx but she's calling the po po!

There was a rumor that you and Erica and Kim were both--at the same time--sleeping with Emily B.'s baby's daddy, rapper Fabolous, back in the day.  And that's supposedly why Erica has beef with you.  She's denied it.  Can you confirm or deny?

I have no idea what anybody is talking about.  I dated Fab three years ago…if she dated him three years ago....that's fine. 

 

Some people think she's just purposely causing drama to get a permanent slot on the show and make a name for herself. Do you agree?

Yes. And she wants to talk about me doing stuff for free? She’s not a cast member, so she’s not even getting paid to be on the shows!

Obviously, you're having a rough time getting along with the girls.  You had a fight on your very first episode of this season with Chrissy. Why is that?  And do you plan to do another season with these ladies?

I don’t know how to answer that. We had a lot of positive things go on but the producers chose to focus on the drama. I wish they would make it more even…a little bit of positive and a little drama. Why do they focus on the negativity?
They show one aspect of my life, which is the drama I go through with females that I don’t know. It’s always a problem!

You recently tweeted about pitching a LAHH spinoff to creator Mona Scott Young. What would the spinoff entail?

I can’t comment about that, but I’m always trying to venture out and do bigger things.

LeBron James Hits Dwyane Wade For Game-Winning Alley-Oop (VIDEO)

LeBron James capped off his 26th birthday in style last night.

The star made a brilliant inbounds pass to a streaking Dwyane Wade, who converted an alley-oop lay-up in the closing seconds to lift the Miami Heat to 4-0 Friday.

The visiting Heat needed this improbable ending to get the job done, but thanks to James and Wade, they outlasted the scrappy Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-101.
