Did Serene Branson Suffer a Stroke On the Air?

Footage of CBS reporter Serene Branson losing control over her speech while covering the Grammys Sunday sparked serious questions about her health.

She appeared light-headed and began uttering nonsense in what clearly wasn't mere stumbling over words, prompting a call to paramedics thereafter.

While it was feared (and widely reported) that Serene Branson suffered a stroke on air, she was examined and determined to be fine following this:

Serene Branson (CBS Reporter): On-Air Stroke

CBS said in a statement that "Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal."

"She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning."

Some experts speculate she suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA), or a "mini-stroke" that causes only temporary, transient problems.

It was also possible that Branson suffered a seizure or experienced a rare condition associated with migraine headaches during that moment.

In any case, we're glad she's fine.
