Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have reached one of the big milestones of any celebrity relationship: They've taken their PDA in front of the paparazzi. After two months of semi-secretive dating, Johnansson, 26, and Penn, 50, were caught on camera holding hands outside a White House Correspondents' Dinner after-party on Saturday night.
That's not to say that they're shouting their love from the rooftops (yet). While the two actors both attended President Barack Obama's star-studded event, they weren't technically there together; Penn was the guest of a media outlet, while Johannson brought her fraternal twin brother Hunter (who worked as an organizer for Obama's 2008 campaign).
Still, the place was packed with cameras and reporters, and Johansson and Penn weren't shy about flirting in front of them. After dinner, Johansson was seen walking to Penn's table to whisper in his ear, then sneaking out with him for a cigarette break. Later, Penn reportedly gave Johansson his tuxedo jacket to keep her warm. The rumored couple met up after the event for the Vanity Fair party and left together around 2:30 a.m.
The unlikely pair has reportedly been seeing each other since March, following Johansson's separation from Ryan Reynolds in December and Penn's divorce from Robin Wright in July. They've been spotted on a few serious-seeming dates (including a weekend in Mexico and Reese Witherspoon's wedding), but this is the first time they've been photographed together at a public event. And all that secrecy is just feeding the gossip mill: Two weeks ago, Johansson's rep denied pregnancy rumors after some pics of the starlet with an ever-so-slightly bulging belly hit the Internet.
