Katherine Heigl may have won an Emmy for her work on Grey's Anatomy -- but after her very public falling out with the ABC drama, she's the last person we'd expect to want to return to the show. But the One for the Money star told E! News she's ready and willing to appear on the primetime medical drama again.
In fact, she's already asked Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes to return, hopefully to provide closure to Dr. Izzie Stevens' fans.
"I've told them I want to," the actress (and iVillage celebrity blogger) tells E! News. "I don't know... Being a show-runner and being a writer of a TV series like that is so complicated that I mean she's got how many characters are there now? There's a lot and so she's balancing about 40 different storylines, so I don't know if it fits in to their sort of vision for this season or next or however many seasons it goes."
Heigl last appeared on the series in January 2010, when she abruptly left the series to raise her daughter Naleigh. But if the producers or network were to ask her to come back, Heigl would be happy to revisit Seattle Grace Hospital.
"Yeah totally. I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now," she says. "My idea is that she actually like figures it out, and finds some success and does really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering you know, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl take some power back."
