Melissa Gilbert Returns for 'Dancing With the Stars' Rehearsal After Concussion

To quote the new Jennifer Lopez song: Melissa Gilbert is ready to dance again! After suffering a concussion and whiplash on Monday during her paso doble with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Gilbert, 47, is returning to Dancing with the Stars.

"Very happy to be back on campus rehearsing with @MaksimC, Now back home to bed," the actress tweeted on Wednesday.

"Nobody puts Halfpint in the corner!" she added -- a nod to her Little House on the Prairie character's nickname (and, perhaps, to former DWTS winner Jennifer Grey).

On Monday, Gilbert was rushed to the hospital after giving what judge Bruno Tonioli called her "best performance by far." Though she appeared to be fine during the judges' critique, fellow contestant Gavin DeGraw had to carry her down the stairs to get her the medical attention she needed. ("Bless your heart!" Gilbert wrote to her competitor on Twitter.) The show's cast appeared to be very supportive of Melissa during her crisis, especially her dancing partner.

"So, @MelissaEGilbert . You're an ABSOLUTE ROCK STAR!" Chmerkovskiy wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. "You inspire me! Have so much more to say, but...... LOVE YOU!"

While Gilbert was recovering at home, she watched Tuesday's elimination ceremony, and tweeted that she was "devastated" to see Sherri Shepherd sent home.

"Truly stunned that @SherriEShepherd & @iamValC r eliminated. If they can go any of us is fair game!" Gilbert wrote. "This makes my head hurt even more..."

Fortunately, Gilbert felt well enough to handle a "gentle rehearsal" on Wednesday, and will presumably be returning to the show next week. Let's hope that her most athletic dances are behind her!
