Prince William & Kate Middleton Pregnant?

Kate Middleton and Prince William are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary, but do they have another milestone on the way? According to People -- whose new cover is a picture of Kate with the headline "Is She Pregnant?" -- the young royals are getting serious about starting a family.

How soon can we expect to hear the pitter-patter of little feet in Buckingham Palace? The magazine isn't saying whether Kate is already pregnant, but if she is, she's unlikely to announce it before Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Celebration in May. (We wouldn't want to steal thunder from the Queen now, would we?)

But insiders say that the couple's timeline for having babies has definitely moved up. The high-profile pair has reportedly been inspired by their new-parent friends, including Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips (who just had his second daughter with wife Autumn). And People says that the couple has quietly "shelved" an upcoming trip to Africa -- possibly because the required vaccinations could be harmful to a fetus.

Of course, with Kate and Will's anniversary coming up on April 29, it's no surprise that the press is going into overtime bump-watch. And there's no consensus about the couple's pregnancy plans. A source who spoke to Us Weekly has declared that "Kate is not pregnant or about to make a pregnancy announcement," while the often dubious Star claims that Middleton is taking prenatal vitamins and even starting in vitro fertilization treatments(!) in order to get pregnant fast.

Yet the royal insider who spoke to People says that things are not quite so urgent.

"Like any couple, they will let nature and life take its course," says the source. "It will be a joint decision, and they will make it when they’re ready."
