Kristen Stewart made quite a statement when she attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "Cosmopolis" last week in support of co-star (and boyfriend?) Robert Pattinson. So when MTV News caught up with her during our Sneak Peek Week Q&A for her latest movie, "Snow White and the Huntsman," we had to ask for her review of the film.
"He's so good in it!" Stewart gushed about Pattinson's performance. "He's really, really [good]. I don't even know how he [did it]. I couldn't even understand it. It's so good, it's so cool, I'm so proud of him. Thank God."
The superstar went said her overall experience at the highbrow film bonanza was just as positive as her review of Pattinson's performance.
"It's the ultimate celebration," she said of the glitz and glamour of the fest, which she also attended on behalf of her film "On the Road." "I was so oddly placed in my body, which I'm so unable to do. I was not nervous. I had the greatest time it was so cool."
After its Cannes premiere, critics pointed out the film's odd notes but were divided on whether Pattinson was the perfect choice for the lead role.
Directed by David Cronenberg, the film follows Eric Packer (Pattinson) in the not-too-distant future as he's chauffeured through Manhattan on his way to get a haircut. His entire world is falling apart — his marriage is failing, his financial status is slipping and even his very life is being threatened.

It's been 7 years. And the second set of hosts for BET's flagship show, "106 & Park," have officially chucked deuces. Rocsi Diaz & Terrence Jenkins confirmed the rumors that have been swirling--they're leaving. And the twosome made their formal and tearful announcement live on tonight's show. Deets inside....
During an emotional announcement tonight, Terrence told the audience:
We have decided together that we will soon be leaving '106 and Park' as your hosts. This by no stretch of the imagination was an easy decision. But it's the right one. It's come after a lot of prayer, a lot of thought, and a lot of consideration.
Telling the viewers about being surprised by how successful the show became, Rocsi said:
We had no idea--we can't even express how amazing these seven years have been and how life changing they've been. We appreciate you guys so much.
A final show date for the two hosts has not been announced, but Terrence did say they will have a huge farewell. Terrence has a budding movie career having just starred in this spring's blockbuster film Think Like A Man. And he also made a surprise guest hosting appearance on E! News last week. While the E! network said his was simply a one-off guest hosting gig, it's hard not to think it was also a trial run to see if Terrence and his personality could work for the E! audience and alongside host Giuliana Rancic.
He did pretty well too.
Rocsi is hoping to get into more of the Hollywood movie life as well--both in front of the cameras and behind them (with her writing).
BET's President of Programming, Stephen Hill, sang the hosts praises today saying:
“Today, after seven exciting years, 106 & Park hosts Terrence J and Rocsi announced that they will be leaving the show. It is no secret that there are a number of opportunities coming their way and we’re fortunate that they’ve been with 106 & Park for so long. They will be staying on the show for a while, so that we can have a “victory lap” — a celebration of their years at the helm of 106 & Park — before their departure. Terrence J and Rocsi are destined for great success and we at BET Networks will always take pride in being their original home — and be a place where I hope they’ll always feel welcome.”
Well finding replacements will be interesting....

Joss Whedon 'knew exactly the [kind of] Hulk he wanted to bring to the big screen,' VFX supervisor Jeff White tells MTV News.

Hate to break it to you, Dr. Banner, but $200 million and counting doesn't lie: They really, really like you when you're angry.
As "Marvel's The Avengers" approaches its second weekend in theaters with an eye toward furthering its historic box-office total, the fans tuning in for repeat viewings are likely coming back for the same reason: the green monstrosity known as the Hulk. Despite two previous movies with few to no fans to speak of, Hulk has emerged as the breakout star of the Marvel Studios superhero team-up, begging the question: How did director Joss Whedon and his team crack the code? What did they do to finally give fans a big-screen Jade Giant worth rooting for?
Having worked overtime on creating a more than worthwhile Hulk, "Avengers" visual effects mastermind Jeff White has plenty of thoughts on what made the character work this time around chief among those reasons, the vision of Whedon himself.
"It was important to deliver on the performance that Joss was looking for," White told MTV News about why Hulk works in "Avengers." "He knew exactly the Hulk he wanted to bring to the big screen. All of the great moments Hulk has in the film was Joss really guiding us there."
Key to Whedon's vision was Mark Ruffalo, the Oscar-nominated actor who took on the role previously occupied by Edward Norton in "The Incredible Hulk." Unlike Norton, who only played Hulk's human counterpart, Ruffalo provided the motion-capture for "the other guy," allowing viewers to connect with the human side of the gamma-irradiated creature in a deeper way than ever before.
"That was a great design decision that Joss made early on: He wanted to see Mark Ruffalo in the design, and that was great for us, because that meant we could work with Mark," said White, who described the actor as "incredibly generous" throughout the Hulk creation process.
"We spent a lot of time capturing Mark's skin and his hair and every pore detail that he has," White elaborated on how Ruffalo provided the foundation for the Hulk. "We actually did a life-cast of him as part of capturing all of that. So starting every shot from something real and because Mark did a performance for every shot we could then capture that performance and apply it to our Mark Ruffalo digital double, and make sure we were getting the right performance to translate onto the Hulk. That's where an amazing amount of animation has to come in, in order to get that same performance from Mark onto the Hulk."
But another reason why the green monster worked so well this time around, ironically enough, was because he was less green and less monstrous.
"There were good design decisions made in terms of, he's desaturated color-wise, which helps him fit in with the Avengers much better. He's not super muscly all the time, either. Joss wanted us to go for a bit more of a wrestler aesthetic instead of just being super cut," White explained. "What's great about that is that when he does jump around and start smashing everything, we really have somewhere to go in terms of flexing the muscles and popping the veins."
In the end, Hulk flourished in "Avengers" for the same reason the movie worked so well on the whole: a combination of fantastic visual effects, strong performances, and clear creative vision from Whedon and Marvel Studios.
"It's not just one thing you can point to, but a series of very good decisions in terms of Joss and Marvel's approach to the Hulk this time," said White. "For one, I think Joss really knows the kind of action that people want to see the Hulk do. That shot of him slamming Loki was in there right from the beginning. It's phenomenal. People love it. That scene was there right from the very beginning. I think that was the key. And casting with Mark Ruffalo, and how much he worked with us in terms of the performance of the character and all of the textural details."
"With 'Avengers,' there were so many things to get right," he continued. "But everything we put into it, we knew the film would be judged by the success of the Hulk, so we're really happy that people are excited about it."

Fans spend a lot of time trying to decode Rihanna and Chris Brown's Twitter messages, but here's a pretty straightforward one: The contentious ex-couple has stopped following one another on the social networking site. Funny, it seems like just last week that Rihanna was tweeting Chris her happy birthday wishes...
Oh, wait. It was last week. But that was before Mr. Brown released his latest freestyle rap remix, featuring a verse that Rihanna seems to have taken personally.
On the new track, which uses music from Kanye West's "Way Too Cold" (a.k.a. "Theraflu"), Brown lets loose with these lines about an ex-girlfriend:
Don't f*** with my old bitch it's like a bad fur
Every industry n**** done had her
Trick or treat like a pumpkin just to smash her
Bitch is breaking codes, but I'm the password.
You can listen to the full rap below (warning: strong language).
Nothing about that verse screams "Rihanna" to us -- but apparently, it did to Rihanna. The "Where Have You Been" singer immediately stopped following Brown on Twitter, after tweeting, "Aw, poor dat #neaux1currrrr." (Hash tag translation: "No one cares.")
Brown returned the favor and unfollowed Rihanna, but not before trying to clear the air with an explanation/guilt trip.
"Assumptions! I didn't say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about," he tweeted. (Always the gentleman, that Chris Brown.)
Much as we'd like to see Rihanna and Chris Brown go their separate ways for good, a Twitter rift doesn't seem all that permanent. But maybe it will at least put an end to those uncomfortably sexual song collaborations?

A movie expert weighs in on why the teen dramedy was a box-office flop.
By Jocelyn Vena
Miley Cyrus in "LOL"
Photo: Lionsgate
Last Friday, Miley Cyrus' soapy teen dramedy "LOL" opened to a limited release in nine states. The film, by all accounts, didn't perform the way a film starring Cyrus, "Twilight" star Ashley Greene and one-time screen siren Demi Moore, might be expected to.
"LOL," an English-language adaptation of a French Film of the same name, grossed only $46,500 in 105 theaters. While it's hard to tell why the film underperformed, it seems that a lack of marketing leading up to its debut may have played a role in that. The flick follows the story of a teen, Lola (played by Cyrus), as she faces the strife of first love in a world driven by technology.
"It's really hard to say because we've heard absolutely nothing about it. I think there was some buzz about this was sort of going to be a different type of breakout role for Miley. I'm not a fan of Miley, but I would actually like to see that and I think a lot of people would," Brooke Tarnoff, a senior editor at Next Movie, told MTV News about the lackluster interest in the flick once it dropped.
With so few eyes on the release leading up to May 4, it's hard to tell if the performance had anything to do with Cyrus. Tarnoff added, "Maybe the selling power of Miley has diminished. I think her fanbase may be less loyal than it was in the 'Hannah Montana' days, but it's all kind of moot."
The film had gotten some attention when Cyrus and Greene were spotted filming it back in 2010. But, after shooting wrapped, little else was heard about the film until a trailer dropped in mid-April, three weeks before the limited release.
"There's obviously an audience for pretty much anything," she continued. "And this one having a 'Twilight' star and Miley Cyrus, who still has some cache, it's just [a missed opportunity]."
Regardless of the film's box-office performance, Cyrus seemed proud of it. She took to Twitter over the weekend and brushed off the low numbers. "Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL," she wrote. "It is a film I loved making and I am proud of.... That's really all that matters to me."
Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL. It is a film I loved making and I am proud of.... That's really all that matters to me. ?
— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) May 7, 2012
Lisa Azuelos, who wrote and directed both versions, talked about the box-office response in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
"I really thought this movie could be universal," she said. "Usually teen movies are tender or scary or have vampires in them, but they're never realistic. This story isn't too dirty and not too stupid."

Patricia Krentcil, aka the "Tanning Mom," will no longer be feeling the love -- or the heat -- from tanning salons in her home state of New Jersey. According to People, Planet Sun has reportedly banned the overly tanned mother from receiving services at any of its eight New Jersey locations.
"It's 100 percent true. She's banned," an employee at Planet Sun's Ridgefield, N.J., headquarters tells New York's Daily News.
But the "tanorexic" mom, 44, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of child endangerment for allegedly taking her 6-year-old daughter tanning, says it doesn't matter if she's welcome at a salon franchise or not because she's done with tanning.
"I haven't tanned since all this happened," she says. "I'm not banned from anything. I didn't go. I don't need to go."
Krentcil has become a national punchline since she publicly defended her parenting skills and her tanning practices. A hilariously burnt-orange Kristen Wiig poked fun at Krentcil on a Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live -- which Krentcil says she actually enjoyed.
But Krentcil is not amused by a Connecticut company's "Tanorexic Action Figure," which she thinks is awful.
"My attorney is dealing with it," she tells the Daily News. "They're making Barbie dolls. That's really funny. This is so stupid."

Tom Gabel, the lead singer of punk rock band Against Me!, has come out as transgender and announced that he plans to begin living as a woman.
In the new issue of Rolling Stone (on newsstands Friday), the 31-year-old opens up about the weight of coming out to the public (before this, only a few close friends and family knew of the singer's plan to undergo the transition from male to female) and reveals the "most terrifying" part about coming to terms with gender dysphoria.
"I'm going to have embarrassing moments," says Gabel, "and that won't be fun. But that's part of what talking to you is about -- is hoping people will understand, and hoping they'll be fairly kind."
Gabel, who admits to having dealt privately with gender dysphoria for years, will begin taking hormones and having electrolysis treatments to begin the transformation into a woman.
Gabel eventually plans to take the new name Laura Jane Grace, a name alluded to in Against Me!'s song "The Ocean" from their album New Wave. "If I could have chosen, I would have been born a woman," Gabel sings. "My mother once told me she would have named me Laura."
Gabel, who has a 2-year-old daughter named Evelyn with wife Heather is not attracted to men, and will remain married to Heather.
"For me, the most terrifying thing about this was how she would accept the news," Gabel says. "But she's been super-amazing and understanding."
Against Me! will go on tour with The Cult later this month.

President Barack Obama just dropped a bomb on the American public today. After much debate for years on how Mr. President would and should address the issue, even after endorsing "civil unions" during his Presidency, he said today he personally endorses the legalization of same sex marriage.
His interview clip inside...
In an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, which will air in full tomorrow (Thursday) on "Good Morning America," President Obama finally spoke with conviction about the hot button issue of same-sex marriage. While approximately 30 states have laws that actually outlaw same-sex marriage, Obama has taken his pro-civil union stance one step further to endorse the legalization of same-sex marriage.
"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors, when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that 'don't ask, don't tell' is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," Obama told Roberts in an interview to appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" Thursday.
The President mentioned Sasha & Malia's role in forming his opinion. After sitting around the dinner table with his young daughters, and hearing them speak about their school friends who have same-sex parents, it was a normal occurrence for them that was part of their everyday life. It was easy to see that the same sex opposition was possibly even generational:
"It's interesting, some of this is also generational," the president continued. "You know when I go to college campuses, sometimes I talk to college Republicans who think that I have terrible policies on the economy, on foreign policy, but are very clear that when it comes to same-sex equality or, you know, sexual orientation, that they believe in equality. They are much more comfortable with it. You know, Malia and Sasha, they have friends whose parents are same-sex couples. There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we're talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends' parents would be treated differently. It doesn't make sense to them and, frankly, that's the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective."
And on whether First Lady Michelle Obama and faith were instrumental in his decision:
"This is something that, you know, we've talked about over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way, she feels the same way that I do. And that is that, in the end the values that I care most deeply about and she cares most deeply about is how we treat other people and, you know, I, you know, we are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it's also the Golden Rule, you know, treat others the way you would want to be treated. And I think that's what we try to impart to our kids and that's what motivates me as president and I figure the most consistent I can be in being true to those precepts, the better I'll be as a as a dad and a husband and, hopefully, the better I'll be as president."
So...what are your thoughts? Do you agree with the President? Will this affect his re-election come this November from either direction?

Kris Jenner isn't ready to retire her "momager" title just yet. The mother of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian has come out swinging against rumors that her daughters are firing her as their manager.
A story in the latest issue of In Touch claims that reality TV's favorite sisters are tired of their mother micro-managing their lives in the name of getting her 10 percent. Specifically, the magazine alleges that Kourtney is tired of being criticized for her parenting choices, that Khloe blames Kris for ruining her marriage to Lamar Odom, and that Kim isn't happy with her public image. A similar report in RadarOnline says that Kim has been pulling away from Jenner in the wake of her disastrous, short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries -- and has already begun to negotiate her own contracts for appearance fees and the next season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
But Kris Jenner says that it's all baloney, and everything is business as usual in the Kardashian family.
"Yet another ridiculous story," Jenner wrote on her blog, in response to the In Touch report. "My daughters and I have an amazing relationship and I feel like the luckiest mom in the world to spend such quality time with all my kids and my grandson! We are truly blessed!!! Happy Mothers Day!!!"
With all those exclamation points, how can you doubt her?
The relationship between the Kardashian mama and her children has always been a bit unusual (to say the least). As the manager of their substantial business and entertainment empire, she's never just their mother; she's the person in charge of maintaining the family "brand." And since their money comes from cameras shooting their actual lives, that means she has a whole of lot control over the day-to-day decisions that her daughters make. Khloe has admitted that Kris sometimes tells her to lose weight. So what other choices is she pressuring the girls into making?
"Whoever gives her the most percentage rates at the moment is her favorite," Khloe told Barbara Walters last year, when asked if Jenner has a favorite daughter.
The Kardashians generally seem to be a happy, functional family -- but if the girls did want to get a little professional distance from their mother, could you blame them?

Kristen Stewart puts her inner action star on full display as the butt-kicking Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman." But, it's her vulnerability that Stewart related to most with the chainmail-wearing princess.
"I think that I related to Snowy because ... I love her," she laughed to MTV News during "MTV First: Snow White and the Hunstman" on Tuesday night. "She feels such strong things and sort of can't say exactly why she feels those things ... and I can completely relate to that and I also can relate to feeling arrogant about it a little bit. Sort of like 'It's not about being who you are; it's sort of not saying what everyone thinks I'm going to say because I'm uncomfortable' ... She's like very instinctive and sort of awesome in that way."
Having already brought to life one literary heroine playing "Twilight" leading lady Bella Swan, she explained that she didn't feel pressure to have to tackle Snow White, mostly because there was enough room for her to interrupt the character the way she felt was natural.
"I mean she's such a child in the beginning and has such a strong sense of self in a way that sort of isn't normal, like supernaturally almost," she said. "She's got this connection to the Earth and to her people that makes her like so truly empathetic and not sympathetic.
"She's not putting herself in a position and going, 'Oh, how horrible would that be for me.' She's truly bleeding for other people," she said. "It's a different feeling. It's something I want to get to if I can be a better person. She's a great girl. She's a good person."
"Snow White and the Huntsman," which also stars Charlize Theron (who plays the evil queen Ravenna), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman) and Sam Claflin (the charming Prince William), hits theaters June 1.

Gearing up for a flight out of Paris, France, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron were spotted hopping on a private plane this afternoon (May 10).
Joined by Theron’s baby boy Jackson, the “Snow White and the Huntsman” costars looked a bit rushed as they headed off for London, England.
In a recent interview, Kristen shared that before the “Snow White” gig, she had no idea what it meant to get physical on the set.
"It's funny too because I became such a baby on the movie. I was scared of so much that I didn't think that I was going to be. I tasted little bits of action in other movies, and I thought that I was such a huge badass. I was like, 'I love it. Honestly, I just love how it makes you feel. It feels real. Plenty of fab YBFers were spotted out and about yesterday. Actress Vivica A. Fox was in D.C. promoting a new movie, Rita Ora was in London dropping a new single and "The Voice" personalities Cee-Lo and Christina Milian partied in Hollywood. See pics inside.
Actress Vivica A. Fox was spotted leaving the Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City in DC yesterday.
Viv, who recently signed on to star in the upcoming Bill Bellamy sitcom "Mr. Box Office", was in the nation's capital for a screening of her upcoming film Black November at the prestigious Kennedy Center.
She was later spotted eating with friends at the trendy Founding Farmers Restaurant.
And in Hollywood......
"The Voice" personality Christina Milian was seen arriving at club Bardot with her pretty sister.
Not a fan of the dress but her makeup was pretty. Somebody's in a blue mood these days...
Later on......
Her co-star Cee-Lo was seen leaving the club in a white Rolls Royce.
Looks like his ladyfriend had a good time too. Of course...
And in London.....
Roc Nation singer Rita Ora was spotted rocking a skin tight dress ahead of her big night out.
Rita was there to launch her new single 'R.I.P' at Asprey.
Nice.
