Katie Holmes is "Doing Really Great" While Solo in Big Apple

Standing tall after her highly publicized divorce with Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes went about her business today (July 31) in New York City.

The "Dawson's Creek" star wore a casual yellow long-sleeved top and blue jeans with a black bag swung over her shoulder and a coffee cup in her hand as she stopped at Benjamin Moore and the Chelsea Market.

Sources say the 33-year-old is well-off nowadays and she's been spotted out and about all over New York since the split.

An insider tells Us Weekly, "She's doing really great. She's so strong, she's an independent girl with her own ideas. She is fine."

An ongoing project for the mother of little Suri Cruise, however, is disciplining the 6-year-old. "There has been some resistance. But Suri adores her mum. So, little by little, she's starting to listen. Katie is taking everything very slowly,” the source explained.
