Chris Brown clearly hasn't moved on from his anger issues.
The troubled 21-year-old singer apparently went ballistic Tuesday morning -- screaming loudly and smashing a window in his dressing room -- following a Good Morning America interview in which he was questioned about his 2009 arrest for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna. In the initial interview, conducted by Robin Roberts, Brown tried to avoid questions focusing on the newly lifted restraining order against him and bring the focus to his new album, F.A.M.E. "It's not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation. I think I'm past that in my life," he told the GMA anchor. "Today's the album day, so that's what I'm focused on."
But Roberts didn't let up on the R&B sensation, continuing to probe for answers surrounding his violent past and the legal issues that have stemmed from it. Growing more agitated, Brown deflected the questions. "This album is what I want people to hear and people to really get into," he said. "So definitely this album is what I want them to talk about and not stuff that happened two years ago."
After the interview, Brown performed his new single, "Yeah 3x." But, according to TMZ, immediately following the song, a furious Brown rushed into his dressing room and screamed so loudly that the hair and makeup people were frightened and called security. The star's tumultuous temper got the better of him, and he smashed a window in his dressing room (allegedly with a chair), dangerously sending shards of glass falling onto 43rd and Broadway in Times Square below.
Brown then ripped off his shirt and menacingly stared down a GMA producer in the hallway, before fleeing the building and blowing off his commitment to perform for ABC Online. By the time security reached Brown's dressing room, the singer was already gone. Watch the interview that set off Brown's tantrum below!
ABC has confirmed the chain of events, and ABC News issued a statement supporting Robin Roberts: "As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown."
Brown disagreed, taking to his Twitter page at 6:49 a.m. to write: "I'm so over people bring this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for (their) bulls**t." The tweet was promptly deleted and replaced with a message to his fans saying: "All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!"
Brown has been outspoken about being done with apologizing for his past and being ready to move on. But despite glowing probation reports from the judge overseeing his case, it looks as though the "With You" singer hasn't gotten over his disturbing anger issues.
