RATINGS RAT RACE: 'Fringe' Bounces Back, 'Shark Tank' Premieres

On the heels of its early renewal, Fox's Fringe (1.5 rating in 18-49) rebounded last night, up 15% from last week's series low. (It's probably easier to commit your time to a show you know will be back next year.) Kitchen Nightmares (1.5) was down a tenth. ABC's Shark Tank opened its second season with a 1.2/4 and 4.8 million viewers, finishing fourth in the demo in the 8PM hour. The reality series still scored ABC's best numbers in the time slot in 2 months (18-49) and 4 months (total viewers) and outdrew its own Friday performances last year in the 9 PM slot. CBS is expected to win the night with NCAA basketball, though reliable numbers for its live coverage won't be available until Monday.
