Lindsay Lohan should have some interesting -- but short! -- prison stories to share!
The embattled actress, 25, was released early from an overcrowded Los Angeles jail very early Monday morning, the L.A. Sheriff's Department confirms. After checking into jail at 9 p.m. on Nov. 6, Lohan spent only four hours in the system before being let go at 1 a.m.
"All I can tell you is that she was already released," L.A. Sheriff's Deputy Tony Moore told People Monday morning.
As was explained earlier by a sheriff's spokesperson, as a nonviolent offender, Lohan would be among the first sprung free if there was a need to ease the over-capacity jail.
After appearing in court on Nov. 2, the troubled starlet was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation (which stemmed from her previous DUI and theft cases). But due to the sheer numbers of people incarcerated in the Los Angeles jail system Sunday night, Lohan got out of the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., in a matter of hours.
Now the actress, who recently posed for a nude spread in Playboy, must work an additional 53 days of service hours on custodial duty at the L.A. morgue and attend 18 more therapy sessions. Her hours must be completed by the end of March 2012.
If Lohan once again fails to meet her obligations to the state, she faces an additional whopping 270-day jail sentence. But of course, she could still be released early for overcrowding if that were the case.
So will Lohan show up for her sessions, or take her luck with another sentence that could end in a matter of hours?
