Octomom Nadya Suleman Files for Bankruptcy

It seems that "Octomom" Nadya Suleman has run out of moneymaking schemes to support her 14 children. Just one month after posing topless to pay off her mortgage debt, Suleman, 36, has filed for bankruptcy.

"I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year and Filing Chapter 7 was one of them. But I have to do what is best for my children and I need a fresh start," the single mother of octuplets told E! News on Monday.

In the court filing, Suleman claims she can no longer keep up with her bills and is between $500,000 and $1 million dollars in debt. Among those she owes money to: Verizon Wireless, Sparkletts bottled water, Orkin Pest Control, the DMV, DirecTV and Sylvan Learning Center.

The controversial media star, who gave birth to her eight younger children in 2009, has always insisted that she would raise them without any kind of government assistance. However, amid claims of child neglect, she recently admitted that she has been accepting welfare. Now Nadya is trying to start over -- and she says she'll do pretty much anything to get herself back to financial independence.

"I’ve been using the media to pay the bills. Any offer now is to take care of my kids.  I had to strip myself of pride," she told Good Morning America.

Her current moneymaking efforts include posing topless (for which she received $8,000), accepting pay-per-minute phone calls through a company called Dial-A-Star, doing an online TV series and even starring in a low-budget horror film. Now that Suleman is in dire straights, she may even consider something that she always said was off limits: porn.

"If it's a job, and it's a well-paying job, and it's going to allow me to get us out of here and into a very safe huge home that they deserve, then I'm going to do it," she told HLN's Showbiz Tonight, although she stressed that she would never have sex with someone for money.

"I wouldn't even kiss somebody for money," Suleman declared. "I wouldn't touch somebody."

In 2009, Vivid Entertainment offered the single mom $1 million to star in an adult film. The following year, as she faced foreclosure on her home, they made a second offer: $500,00 for a film with just one actual sex scene. Their latest offer, made earlier this year? $100,000 to do a film with three sex scenes. In other words, it's unlikely that compromising her anti-porn stance would actually pay Suleman's bills (although it would have three years ago). Hopefully, for the sake of those kids, she can figure something else out -- and quickly.
