Paging Dr. McDreamy! Apparently Ryan Gosling isn't Hollywood's only real-life hero. Patrick Dempsey quietly performed his own random of act of heroism when he rescued a teen from a car accident last week.
The Grey's Anatomy star pulled a teenage boy from a vehicle after it crashed near his Malibu, Calif., home.
"I was scared for my life, I was upside down," said Weston Masset, who told ABC News he was barely conscious and trapped inside the wreckage of his own car, which had flipped over in the accident.
Even before Masset and his family spoke to the press, their friend Shawn Ryan, a showrunner for The Shield, shared the news on Twitter: "True Story: Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey pulled my friend's son out of overturned car after bad accident on Tuesday. #GoodDude"
The 46-year-old actor reportedly witnessed the car flip and rushed to help with a crow bar in hand to pry the doors open. He pulled Masset to safety and immediately called paramedics to the scene. Massen was subsequently airlifted to the hospital.
Masset, who suffered only a concussion and an eye injury, recalls his first exchange with Dempsey.
His first words to Dempsey were: "Are you famous?" to which the TV star replied, "Yeah I'm a doctor," Masset said.
Dempsey even called Masset's mom to inform her about her son's accident!
"He had a certain authority in his voice," said Mary Beth Masset. "I asked if he was a paramedic and he said no, 'this is Patrick Dempsey.'"
