Jessica Sanchez may not have won American Idol, but she could score another gig on Fox's primetime schedule. The season 11 runner up is reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming fourth season of Glee.
According to TVLine, Sanchez, 16, is in negotiations to star in a four-episode arc on the musical series. Although no details were released about exactly who Sanchez would be playing at McKinley High (or the New York Academy for the Dramatic Arts, where Rachel just enrolled), the plan would be to have the California native appear some time in the first half of the season after she's done with her Idols Live concert tour.
Whatever the role is, Sanchez seems like an ideal fit for the series, which will have to juggle story lines with the newly graduated crop of singers and the remaining members of New Directions.
During her season 11 Idol run, Sanchez was considered an early favorite but had to be saved midway through the competition. After the Idol judges used their sole save on Sanchez, she was thought to be a frontrunner until Phillip Phillips pulled a mild upset with his win.
Given Sanchez' set of pipes, one thing Glee fans can definitely expect is to hear Jessica sing at least once per episode.
