Freestyle Combines Facebook With Theatrical/VOD For U.S. Rollout Of ?Tomorrow When The War Began?

Facebook can boast the second feature in as many days�touting the social media site as part of its release strategy. The recent No. 1 box office hit in Australia, Tomorrow, When The War Began will have a February 24th day and date theatrical/VOD release in the U.S. The movie will also be available for rent through Facebook via social cinema technology by Freestyle partner Milyoni allowing users to share the title with friends. The strategy makes Freestyle Digital Media among the first to release a film simultaneously on these platforms. Written and directed by Stuart Beattie (GI Joe: Rise Of The Cobra), Tomorrow, When The War Began will have an initial ten city run in North America. Based on the book series from author John Marsden, the action-thriller follows the journey of eight high school friends in an Australian coastal town whose lives are suddenly and violently upended by an invasion that no one saw coming.�The film stars Caitlin Stasey (Neighbours), Rachel Hurd-Wood (Dorian Gray) and Lincoln Lewis (33 Postcards) and is produced by Andrew Mason and Michael Boughen.
