Taylor Armstrong isn't taking threats lightly. After the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star received serious-sounding death threats on Twitter Sunday night, she contacted the FBI to track down their source.
On Jan. 29, Armstrong received the following tweet from a user with the handle @hardboiledpeggs: "See u on February 7 ill be there with a book and a rope so i can kidnap u."
According to Radar Online (@hardboiledeggs account has since been removed from the social media site), Armstrong responded by telling the user: "Don't ever contact me again."
But the exchange got considerably scarier when @hardboiledpeggs also threatened Armstrong's 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy. "Turn around bright eyes every now and then, Kennedy's dead," a follow-up tweet said. Once again, Armstrong replied demanding never to be contacted again.
Because Armstrong is scheduled to appear at a book-signing event in New Jersey Feb. 7 to promote her new memoir, Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within, Armstrong decided to call law-enforcement authorities to make sure she and her daughter are safe.
"Taylor will be consulting with security professionals and assess what changes she needs to increase," a law enforcement official told Radar.
"Her first concern when she got the threats was Kennedy, but her daughter is safe, and that is all that matters to Taylor. She will do whatever is necessary to protect herself and Kennedy. Taylor is assisting the FBI with the investigation, and she wants the person responsible for the the threats prosecuted."
Armstrong is reportedly still planning to make her Feb. 7 appearance, despite the Twitter threats.
