Katy Perry Ready for Next Album To Be The "Black Box" of Who She Is

Enjoying a night on the town, Katy Perry made her way out of the Henry Fonda Theatre after attending The XX concert in Hollywood, California on Monday (July 23).

Showing off her new short black hairstyle, the "Wide Awake" songstress looked stunning as she walked by the shutterbugs wearing a floppy black hat and a floor length dress with a colorful floral design.

Although Katy has admitted she is "happy" and "in a good place" despite her failed 14-month marriage to Russell Brand , she recently hinted her next studio album could be a little "darker" than her previous work.

It seems the 27-year-old singer is ready to share all her secrets, telling Capital FM, "I would love to just let it be the 'black box' of who I am." However, the edgy opus wouldn't be entirely sad- "I’d never devote a whole record to heartbreak" she explained to The Sun.

Katy isn't the only one ready to open up about her failed marriage. Last week Russell told Howard Stern that he quickly realized it wasn't going to work shortly after exchanging vows explaining, "This isn't really working out, it's a difficult situation ... I was really, really in love with her, but it was difficult to see each other."

"We were together when it was right to be together," Brand added, "and when it wasn't we worked it out ... It was a lovely relationship ... it mostly didn't work for practical reasons ... We did work it out, she's happy, I'm happy."
