Police Investigate Fight at Jackson Family Home

Michael Jackson's 82-year-old mother Katherine Jackson is officially no longer be missing, but that doesn't mean all is well in the Jackson family. In fact, things might be worse than ever.

On Monday afternoon, just hours before Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson tweeted that the "farcical" missing-persons case involving his mother had been resolved, members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were called to Katherine's Encino, Calif., residence to investigate a "possible battery."

Celebuzz reports that the altercation began when Jermaine, Randy and Janet Jackson arrived on the property, camera crew in tow. Their alleged goal: to take Jackson's three children -- Prince, 15; Paris, 14; and Blanket, 10 -- while Katherine, with whom the kids had been living since Michael's death in 2009, is in Arizona.

"Deputies determined that a physical altercation had occurred of misdemeanor battery," said L.A. Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore. "It involved members of the Jackson family. A report was taken. No arrests were made, and the investigation is ongoing."

Whitmore confirmed that the fight involved two people, but wouldn't specify the participants. "If we thought an arrest should have been made, we would have made it," he insisted.

Katherine Jackson's attorney Sandra Ribera shared her version of the events with E! Online.

"Yesterday afternoon certain Jackson family members ambushed Katherine Jackson's home after their vehicle tore security gates on the tails of the SUV containing Michael Jackson's children," Ribera said. "After exiting their vehicles, Jackson family members ran up to Michael's children as they yelled and began to aggressively grab at the cell phones in their hands. Out of concern for the well being of Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson, the children were forced to temporarily leave their home and taken to a safe location. An altercation ensued shortly thereafter and law enforcement arrived at the scene."

Ribera goes on to say that this "ambush" has been part of a plan that's "been in place for the last three years."

Paris, meanwhile, still maintains that she has been out of contact with her grandmother Katherine for a week and a half -- despite the fact that police have confirmed Katherine is safe with family members in Arizona.

Now the question is: Why would Janet, Jermaine and Randy try to take the children (if that is indeed what they were doing)? Well, it could have something to do with the ongoing battle over Michael's $1 billion estate.

Michael's siblings Janet, Tito, Jermaine, Randy and Maureen are not too pleased with his will, which leaves everything to his mother and children. MJ's five brothers and sisters recently fired off a legal letter to the executors of Michael's estate claiming that his will is "Fake, Flawed and Fraudulent" and that their mother is "not equipped to handle the stress load" that raising Michael's children entails.

Michael's children, especially Paris, seem to disagree. Just last week, Paris tweeted her unflagging loyalty to her grandmother.

"i will defend my beloved family member with all i have, even if it means from other family members," Paris said, adding, "at this point i dont care what people call me or if they think i'm a bad person... if it means sticking up for my grandmother i will do it."

TMZ is reporting that Tito Jackson's 34-year-old son TJ is having his lawyers draft legal documents in a bid to become Prince, Paris and Blanket's temporary legal guardian until they're reunited with Katherine. Sources tell the site that the kids are on board with this course of action.
