We really thought Roberto Martinez would be handing out the roses this time around, but it seems that he has some competition! Us Weekly is reporting that Sean Lowe, who was struck down by Emily Maynard on this season of The Bachelorette, is in consideration to be the next Bachelor.
"He's emotional and good looking," says an insider of Lowe. "He'd be the hottest Bachelor ever."
The 28-year-old insurance salesman was a fan favorite before Maynard sent him packing last week. A devout Christian from Texas, he appeared heartbroken during Monday's "Men Tell All" special, saying, "It never entered into my thoughts that I was going home that evening. I was thinking about being a father and a husband."
But what about Martinez, who was poised to be the first Latino bachelor in the show's history? It sounds like Ali Fedotowsky's ex-fiance might still have a shot at the title, but he's weighing his options carefully. According to Us Weekly, he even turned to current Bachelorette Maynard for advice.
"Roberto wants to make sure he's compensated because this is going to change his life forever. The show and the hype around it have gotten a lot more intense," says a source. As for Maynard, she reportedly told him to go for it, describing the show as "the time of her life."
While we wait for ABC to pick its next Bachelor, Emily is still debating between hipster businessman Jef Holm and racecar driver Arie Luyendyk on The Bachelorette. She'll pick her man on Sunday's three-hour season finale, to be followed by the first-ever live edition of "After the Final Rose."
