Britney, Gaga, Bieber Help Texas Car Crash Orphans

The story could not be more tragic: On July 3, the Berry family was driving home from vacation when a car crossed into their lane on a remote west Texas highway, hitting them head on. The parents, Joshua and Robin, were killed, and their three children, Peter, 9, Aaron, 8, and Willa, 6, suffered severe injuries. Peter and Aaron were both permanently paralyzed due to devastating spinal injuries and will require longtime care. Willa suffered broken bones. The now orphaned children have struck a chord across the United States, and celebrities, including Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have taken up the fundraising cause for the Berry kids.

These three stars -- as well as Ellen DeGeneres, Khloe Kardashian and a slew of others -- have changed their avatars on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter to an image of two hands making a heart shape, and are urging their fans to donate to showyourhearts.org, the website for The Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust.

The trust is raising funds to help pay for the children's medical bills, as well as their extensive rehabilitation and physical therapy needs. It is hoped that they can raise enough money to set up funds for the childrens' future education.

"Change your profile picture today & make sure to #showyourhearts," Spears tweeted today, attaching a photo of herself making the heart shape with her hands.

Lady Gaga changed her Facebook avatar to the heart-shaped hands image, and updated her status to read: "Donate to the Berry Children. We're showing our hearts. Change your art and show yours too."

Justin Bieber also changed his Facebook and Twitter profile pics to the heart-shaped hands, and posted a message urging fans to "step up" and donate to the cause. "It is a really sad story, but this is an opportunity for me and my friends to do something good for others," the 17-year-old singer tells People. "We can use our influence to do good. We are just doing our part and I hope those kids get something positive out of it."

You can donate to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust here. Additionally, texting BERRY to 85944 donates $10 to the fund. So come on, folks: Show your hearts.
