Looking to be ready for a weekend getaway, Jennifer Lawrence joined her mom in loading luggage into one of the family's cars in Santa Monica, CA on Friday afternoon (June 29).

The "Hunger Games" hottie showed off her curves in a tight grey top with bright red trousers as she showed off her sweet side by opening the gate for her mom - causing her to lose her balance a bit before finishing up the packing job.

Miss Lawrence's summertime travels come after a report from Us magazine tells that she recently enjoyed a night on the town with "Queen of California" crooner John Mayer.

With her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult nowhere to be found, Jen and John hit up Medieval Times restaurant, with an Us insider dishing of the scene, "They were playful and nudging shoulders."

The source added that Mayer was "implying that he wanted to get [Jennifer] drunk," but another person in the know tells that he was unsuccessful in doing so.

Charlie Sheen Returns to TV in 'Anger Management': Preview

The reviews are in, and they're not all that kind. Over the last few days, leading up to the June 28 debut of Anger Management (FX, Thursday, 9 p.m. ET), TV critics have been skewering Charlie Sheen and the comeback vehicle he's riding in on.

The Huffington Post doesn't even consider she's first foray into series TV since being fired from Two and a Half Men a show, calling it "lucrative spin control disguised as a traditional sitcom."

That said, there is a story here, and it revolves around yet another guy named Charlie. (In Two and a Half Men, Sheen played Charlie Harper; now he's Charlie Goodman.) This Charlie is an ex-baseball player-turned-therapist who helps a motley group of rage-aholics deal with their mean-spirited impulses. In his personal life, this fictional Charlie is also dealing with his own, angry penchants. But through interactions with his ex-wife (Shawnee Smith), his teen daughter (Daniela Bobadilla), his therapist/love interest (Selma Blair) and his local bartender (Brett Butler), he's striving for personal growth.

This idea particularly vexes the HuffPo critic, who writes that "this repulsive show will no doubt go a long way toward solidifying Sheen's image as a harmless party boy (an image that the media is all too willing to go along with), and erase the image of Sheen as a man who has repeatedly been accused of being violent toward women."

Perhaps it's unfair to knock Sheen for his show's well-meaning premise. (Would it be better if Sheen portrayed a wife beater or a pimp?) And most reviewers continue to acknowledge that Sheen is a gifted performer with good comic timing. But for a show purportedly about controlling one's meanness, there's an awful lot of hateful humor.

Halfway through the second episode, it's easy to understand why some reviewers (and just plain old viewers) would be incensed. The story line describes Charlie trying to make amends for a past cruelty: to get out of a hitting slump, he'd slept with the ugliest woman he could find. So how does he make up for it now? He gamely tries to stifle his repulsion whenever he's around her. What a guy.

Other critics merely say the series isn't that good. "Sheen's new show is a pale substitute for his old one at its height, and not much of an improvement on Men at its depth," writes USA Today's reviewer.

Meanwhile, TIME's critic expresses the common opinion that, at its core, the actual plot isn't all that important. This show is about Charlie Sheen getting another TV show. That said, the TIME review isn't too biting. "There's enough in the first episode to suggest that Anger Management could be a decent cynical comedy if it wanted to," the review says. "And there's enough in the second episode to suggest it doesn't really want to."

It's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but it's one of the more positive critical reactions out there. At this point, Sheen should take whatever compliments he can get. At any rate, this sure doesn't look like "winning."

The Amazing Spider-Man Exclusive Video with Sally Field

Peter Parker may have gotten his powers from a radioactive spider, but he got his values from his Aunt May and Uncle Ben.

In this iVillage exclusive featurette from The Amazing Spider-Man (in theaters July 3), Sally Field and Martin Sheen (who play May and Ben in the reboot) explain how their characters instilled strong morals in their superhero nephew. In addition, the people Field and Sheen worked with reveal what the two veteran actors brought to the film.

"I feel a similar amount of awe for [Field] as I do for Martin," says the film's titular star, Andrew Garfield. "She's an incredible mother, she's an incredible loving energy."

And director Mark Webb agrees. "Much like Sally Field, Martin Sheen is an iconic presence," he says. "He's everybody's Uncle Ben, and everybody sort of knows and feels that affection toward him."

In an effort to repair her tarnished reputation, In Touch can exclusively reveal that Courtney Robertson — the much-maligned fiancée of Bachelor Ben Flajnik, 29 — is planning to pen an explosive tell-all.

“She felt like she was portrayed as the villain, so she wants to get her side of the story out there,” an insider tells In Touch.

The source says that Courtney plans to expose some of the show’s biggest secrets! “From the late night calls from producers telling her exactly how to act and respond, to calls from the production company to talk about her appearing on Bachelor Pad, Dancing With the Stars, and The Bachelorette, Courtney wants everyone to know what really goes on behind the scenes of some of Hollywood's most beloved reality TV shows,” the insider tells In Touch.

President Obama Praises Supreme Court Health Care Ruling; Celebrities Tweet Reactions

After the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Obamacare on Thursday, the President who fought and sacrificed for the controversial law praised the 5-4 ruling.

While the court placed limitations on Congress' power to regulate commerce and the U.S. government's ability to restrict state funds, the law stood.

The survival of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) - pejoratively or affectionately called Obamacare - signaled a major victory for Barack Obama.

"Today's decision was a victory for people all over this country whose lives are more secure because of this law," Obama said in a televised statement.

President Obama Reacts to Supreme Court Health Care Ruling

"I know the debate over this law has been divisive," he added. "It should be pretty clear that I didn't do this because it was good politics."

"I did it because I believe it is good for the country."

Obama encouraged on his Twitter account for Americans to share what the Supreme Court ruling means to them and some celebrities did just that.

To kick off his huge debut on Wednesday, mogul Magic Johnson hosted a star studded event at Cipriani's 42nd St. in NYC for his brand new network ASPIRE.

Magic Johnson hosted a big celebrity bash to kick off his new Atlanta based ASPIRE cable tv network last night.

The network combines  a unique mix of original and groundbreaking programming aimed at African-American viewers. The network will launch with inaugural distribution partners Comcast and Time Warner Cable.

Joining the network as hosts of its primetime programming blocks are award-winning actor Laurence Fishburne, who will host "Groundbreaking Movies"; actor and comedian Jonathan Slocumb (Meet the Browns, "The Steve Harvey Show"), host of "Groundbreaking Comedies"; Actor Omari Hardwick (Sparkle, I Will Follow), host of ASPiRE's first original series, "ABFF Independent"; and Grammy Award®-winning musician Esperanza Spalding, host of "Groundbreaking Music."

Actress Tika Sumpter and June Ambrose partied it up together (above).

June rocked a cutesy grey floral frock and sparkling heels.  And made nice with Rocsi.

Nora Ephron Remembered By Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman

'At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit,' Hanks says of late filmmaker.

Nora Ephron's impact on the world of film — particularly romantic comedies, thanks to her memorable scripts for big-screen classics "When Harry Met Sally ..." and "Sleepless in Seattle" — was felt in the wake of the news that the screenwriter, journalist and director passed away on Tuesday at the age of 71 from pneumonia.

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, who both appeared in "Sleepless in Seattle" (Hanks also later appeared in Ephron's "You've Got Mail"), recalled the times they spent with her when the cameras weren't rolling. "Nora Ephron was a journalist/artist who knew what was important to know; how things really worked, what was worthwhile, who was fascinating and why," Hanks and Wilson said in a statement to E! News. "At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit, mixed with love for us and love for life. Rita and I are so very sad to lose our friend who brought so much joy to all who were lucky enough to know her."

Comedian and 2012 Academy Awards host Billy Crystal recalled the joy of appearing in "When Harry Met Sally ..." in his remembrance of the multi-hyphenate talent. "I am very sad to learn of Nora's passing," he said in a statement. "She was a brilliant writer and humorist. Being her Harry to Meg's Sally will always have a special place in my heart. I was very lucky to get to say her words."

Carrie Fisher, who appeared alongside Crystal in the iconic film, said in a statement to the Boston Globe, "In a world where we're told that you can't have it all, Nora consistently proved that adage wrong. A writer, director, wife, mother, chef, wit — there didn't seem to be anything she couldn't do. And not just do it, but excel at it, revolutionize it, set the bar for every other screenwriter, novelist, director. She was inspiring, intimidating and insightful. She was so, so alive. It makes no sense to me that she isn't anymore. My heart goes out to her family and the many others who treasured her."

The outpouring of love for Ephron hardly ended there. Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep, who starred in two Ephron classics, "Heartburn" and 2009's "Julie & Julia," noted that her interests and intellect touched on all subject matters.

"Nora just looked at every situation and cocked her head and thought, 'Hmmmm, how can I make this more fun?' " Streep said. "You could call on her for anything: doctors, restaurants, recipes, speeches or just a few jokes, and we all did it, constantly. She was an expert in all the departments of living well."

Nicole Kidman, who starred in Ephron's quirky big-screen take on the classic 1960s sitcom "Bewitched," noted that it was a "joy to be around" the writer. "She was so smart, warm and funny. I am so grateful that she was my friend and we had the opportunity to work together. My thoughts and love are with her family at this time. I will never forget the dinners, games and laughter we all shared," Kidman said.

David Beckham Gets Back to Work After Olympic Disappointment

One day after receiving some disappointing news, David Beckham was back to work while practicing with the LA Galaxy in Los Angeles, California today (June 28).

Donning bright pink shoes with his blue Adidas jersey, the soccer stud ran up and down the field with his teammates before taking a break on a bench while perched alongside a large orange Gatorade jug.

As for the sad news, David was told that he did not make the cut for the British Olympic soccer team - which will compete next month during the London Olympics.

After learning he wouldn't be on the team, Beckham told the Associated Press, "Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me, so I would have been honored to have been part of this unique Team GB squad".

Even though he won't be joining the 18-man squad to represent his country, David - who carried the Olympic torch last month when it arrived in the UK- is holding no grudges, admitting, "Naturally I am very disappointed, but there will be no bigger supporter of the team than me. And like everyone, I will be hoping they can win the gold."

Nicole Murphy was spotted looking fab outside of ABC studios in midtown Manhattan this morning as her boyfriend, NFL sportscaster Michael Strahan, hit the "Live With Kelly!' stage as this morning's co-host.

The mom of 5 seems to be the sensitive yet fun & drama free cast member so far.  And, surprisingly, we were feeling the premiere episode of "Hollywood Exes" that aired Monday night.

Nicole's animated and quite comical co-star Andrea Kelly was spotted hopping out Wendy Williams' studio after appearing on the show Monday.  The professional choreographer injured her foot while dancing the tango...but she kept it moving with the promo.  Her ex-husband on the other hand, is doing anything BUT.

Today, word broke that R. Kelly canceled all of his appearances scheduled for today in NYC.  The Chicago native apparently is suffering an "emergency illness" that is keeping him home.  His people tell TMZ:

"Initial indications are that he is suffering from complications from surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."

He was scheduled to do a book launch at Barnes & Nobles in Tribeca for his new memoir, Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me.  He was also scheduled to appear on "The Today Show" and "Jimmy Fallon." 

 

Also out in NYC this morning, actress Zoe Saldana was spotted running errands looking extra summery rocking the new DKNY Eyewear Wayfarer shades:

The 34-year-old recently wrapped the Star Trek sequel (yet to be titled), and it's set to hit theaters May 13, 2013.  About how she will be reprising her controversial role of "Nyota Uhura," who has a relationship with the "Spock" character, she said in an interview:

 

All I’m going to say is, if you put all the time and energy and wit into setting these two characters together in the first movie and didn’t follow through, it would be a shame.

Carmelo Anthony GETS WAXED In NYC, LaLa & Kiyan CELEBRATE!

Last night in NYC, tourist attraction Madame Tussauds unveiled a wax sculpture of NY Knick baller Carmelo Anthony.  And it's un-freaking-canny as usual. See pics of his wife LaLa and son Kiyan celebrating with him inside....

 

The next time Carmelo Anthony fans visit NYC's Time Square, they'll be able to get up close and personal with him at Madame Tussauds.  Last night, he was joined by wife LaLa Anthony and son Kiyan at the official unveiling of his wax statue.

He revealed that he had to pose for six hours for the figure's sculptors.  And they got the tatts and all.

He tweeted fans, I am truly honored. I appreciate all my fans who came out to support. Once in a lifetime experience! Wow!
