Dancing With the Stars All-Stars: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas Go Home

Dancing With the Stars All-Stars: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas Go Home

Before America tuned in to the second presidential debate, another important vote was determined -- which all-star had to leave Dancing with the Stars.

It was another emotional night on DWTS as a couple unfamiliar with the hot seat faced possible elimination. At the end of Monday night's competition, the nine contestants ranged from Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini, who each went into Tuesday night tied for first place with 39.5 points to Kirstie Alley bringing up the rear with 30 points for her Charleston.

But it was pro dancer Karina Smirnoff who made headlines for slipping during her hip-hop routine with Olympic champion Apolo Anton Ohno. Smirnoff's uncharacteristic mistake led to their worst standing of the season, and indeed the two landed among the three duos in trouble.

Ohno and Smirnoff were joined in the bottom three by Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who have been vulnerable every week so far, and once again Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas.

But there was good news for Karina and Apolo, as they were (predictably) declared safe. A calm and collected Kirstie and Maks will also survive to dance another week, which means the couple booted from the ballroom is... Bristol and Mark.

Palin, 21, was sad but not distraught: "We did it. We made it to week four and I'm happy with that. I had an awesome time and an awesome partner," she said. "I wish everyone the best of luck."

Watch Bristol and Mark's final dance!

Next week, the remaining contestants will perform two dances each.
